At Lee Valley Dog Training School we offer classes tailored both to you and your dog. During Basic Training Your Dog Will Learn

  • To come back when called.
  • To not jumping up on people or furniture.
  • To walk on a loose leash.

1-2-1 Training for Owners and Dogs

Lee Valley Dog Training School offers 1-2-1 training sessions tailored to suit your exact needs.

Our vast dog training experience enables us to work with dogs of all ages, breeds and sizes.

Master Classes

If you don’t have time for weekly training sessions, then we suggest booking a masterclass. These classes cover basic training and obedience techniques in a short time frame. We will assess your needs and your dog’s skillset to suggest a programme most suitable your requirements. Our masterclass trainers aim to help you achieve your desired results quickly.

Puppy Training

Puppies are a great addition to any household. However, all puppies require training to ensure that they are fully house-trained and respond appropriately to commands. At Lee Valley Dog Training School, we offer comprehensive puppy training classes for puppies up to 20 weeks old. We help your new dog learn everything they need to know about being part of a loving family. Training can begin a few days after your puppy has settled into their new home.

Our Puppy Training Classes Include

  • House Training - Introducing your puppy to their new home and teaching them basic house rules.
  • Toilet Training - Teaching your dog to use a specific outdoor space as their toileting area.
  • Crate Training - Teaching your new puppy to sleep in a certain area.
  • Home Alone Training - Helping your puppy manage anxiety while being home alone.
  • Biting Prevention - Teaching your puppy that it is not appropriate to chew furniture, shoes and other items.
  • Appropriate Play - Training your puppy not to bite or display aggressive behaviour when playing with family members or other pets.
  • Socialisation - Learning to be comfortable and friendly around other animals.
  • Basic Walking Etiquette - Teaching your puppy to walk to heel.

Puppy Graduation

After your puppy has completed their training, you are invited to attend their graduation ceremony. A puppy graduate is a dog that has mastered all the basics and is ready to go out into the world and be the best dog they can be.

Obedience Training

Our trainers help pet owners across London and Hertfordshire improve communication with their dogs and control unwanted behaviour. Our obedience training classes involve teaching dogs to respond to basic commands such as sit, down, come and stay. We start by teaching dogs basic commands such as leash control. Once they have mastered the fundamentals, dogs are able to move on to more complex tasks, such as fetching and retrieving.

Targeted Training for Behavioural Problems

If you are struggling to control problematic behaviour in your dog, Lee Valley Dog Training School can help. We carry out dog diagnoses either at your home or over the phone.

After discussing the problem, we will conduct a practical assessment of your situation. We will work to understand your dog’s unwanted behaviour and design their training plan accordingly.
Our behaviourists will then help you understand what you can do to assist your dog in overcoming these issues. We will also provide you with a handy guide to help you gain a better understanding of your dog’s behaviour and implement effective solutions.
